6.8.2000: I think I may be related via William GREGG {M} [P134] = Jane THOM {F} [P135]. My Jane is the daughter of Archibald Thom (1762-1832) and Margaret Candlish(1766-1837), my gt,gt,gt,gt, grand parents. Jane was born in Maybole , Ayrshire 21st of August 1808 (Margaret was possibly visiting relatives) but christened in Dalrymple, the family home. Archibald was a joiner and with Margaret emigrated with other children to Ontario, Canada c.1830 and died there soon after.

There is a ecord of a William Boyd Gregg born to Jane Gregg 21 June 1866 at Dalrymple IGI-C11588. Possibly this Jane was the mother.

From : John M. Stevenson. Novemeber 2007. Hi, Great site and lots of excellent work. I found your site while tracing my great garndmother. She was Sarah Gregg (b 28.10.1836). Sarah had an illegitimate son James (b 29.5.1865) by Thomas Stevenson. Thomas Stevenson was my great grandfather and he moved, round about the time of James birth, to Wagga Wagga, NSW, Australia. James was registered under the name Gregg and later changed his name to Stevenson. The 1871 Census has him as Gregg however the 1881 Census has him as Stevenson. I have a cousin in Bagenalstown, Ireland who has a picture of Sarah Gregg.
