Chr: FamilySearch (IGI) and OPR. 1824 - Strand head 1825 - weaver

There are several James Reid persons living in Newmilns at the same time. The Loudoun parish burial register identifies some by nick name. Others are identified by occupation and place of residence. This is not the James Reid, flesher, whose wife was Agnes Thomson.

A Loudoun parish burial register dated 1 Nov 1851 reads 'James Reid weaver son of James Reid weaver at Greenside Newmilns Comonally Called Loch hi Dyed with a Brain fiven'.
Note that just a few months earlier in the 1851 census this James Reid was living in Greenside.
