Hugh's Parents verified on his Death Cert. Hugh was 99 years old when he died. Hugh and Marion both died in 1862.

Info Mary Martin April 2008:
Hugh Gregg & Marion McWhirter in Barr in the 1861 census. I was pretty sure it was him and so I got the Death Extract. It was - wife & parents as per your website. He died at Shallochwell 19 Jun 1862 aged 99 yrs. His wife died the same year but before him as he was described as a widower.

This John Gregg was 1st cousin to Andrew Greig born 1813 at Glashculloch Barr. They shared the same grandfather George Gregg [P250] but diff grandmothers.
John died aged 44 and heads the list of family names on the monument to this family at Barr Churchyard.
