Tasmania, Australia Joseph JOHNSTONE was reportedly born in Ireland c. 1798, Margaret (daughter of James POWELL and Agnes FULTON) b. Daily, Ayrshire in 1807. Married in Crosshill, Kirkmichael, Ayrshire in 1832. Margaret died in 1851 in Crosshill.
They had the following children

Hello to the Family, its been time to find you, but now again we are together, I am thankful for that and to those who took the time and effort to build the site and for the records posted.
My part of the JOHNSTON/E=GREGGS came to Tasmania.
They traveled on the SS Broomielaw (1856).
They had 10 Children, all born in Tasmania, Australia,

Will give you a strong lead to many who came to (Van Diemen's Land) Tasmania, Ausatralia.
William Johnston died 13 Dec 1899, Ringarooma, Tasmania, Australia.
Jane Johnston nee GREGG, Died 08 May 1919.
Both Buried at Scottsdale, Tasmania, Australia.
I attend the site and am in the process of refurnishing the grave site.
I do have photo's, B,M,D certs in relationship to the Johnstone/s
William and Jane took up Farming in Scottsdale opened a farm and named it "LINDENS", On Minstone Road Scottsdale.Tasmania. The House is still there today, changed a bit but all the windows frames, door frames and fireplace are as was on day one when the Family lived there. William Johnstone and Jane Gregg are my Great Grand Parents.
I do hope to keep in contact and if I can help Family anyway from this end with Tasmania/Australia records Just ask.

1836 "Gregg Jane natural daughter to John Gregg & Jannet Turner in Barr Village was born upon the 23rd day of March & baptized upon the 17th day of April".

Jane does not appear with John Gregg & Marion Anderson in the 1841 census.
I have not found John & Marion's 1851 Census entry.( NOTE Alec Gregg - 2019 I have located the 1851 Census in question and Jane also does not appear on that one)

William Johnston & Jane Gregg emigrated to Tasmania, Australia c.1857.
They had at least 10 children, all born in Tasmania 1858-1881.
