And the name of the city from that time on will be: THE LORD
IS THERE. (Ezekiel 48:35)
Release!Ipswich:
In June I e-mailed asking if there were any people out there who
would be interested in doing somw 'drugs educator' training with
HOPE UK, and had several enquiries. It would be really good if we
could follow this up. Below is part of the e-mail that HOPE sent
me regarding it. If you are still interested or have now become
interested, it would be great to get this going in Ipswich next
year. Please contact me again, and also I would like someone to
be the liaiser if we do get enough people, to sort out training
dates etc. Any responses? Please pray for the 'education' part
of the Release!Ipswich vision, which is not happening too much at
the moment.
Are there any churches / youth groups/ schools who would like to
know more about eating disorders? Restore is able to give a
presentation / session on this..............
Hope UK say:
"We would only
need 6 people who want to volunteer with Hope UK in Ipswich in
order to be able to run a training course there. With regard to
the format and timing of the training that would depend in large
part upon what was best for those who apply. The course consists
of 4 sections, each of which we would normally hold over an
evening, and then the following morning and afternoon. However
exactly how and where these are delivered we can be flexible
about, and would want to discuss this with those who decide to do
the training. For instance we could:
-
cover all 4
sections over just 2 weekends.
-
or alternatively
do a Friday evening and then Saturday morning and afternoon, which
would then be spread over 4 weekends.
-
a third
alternative would be to run the training on weekdays if that was
preferable."
Please pray for
the meeting taking place this Friday afternoon between
representatives of Release!Ipswich and Trustees of the 'Somebody's
Daughter' campaign
Perspectives -
Evaluate..informing choice. Praise the
Lord we have 4 educators trained now to deliver the sex and
relationship package in schools and more people interested. We
have 3 bookings for schools after Christmas, and with the
governments present emphasis on sex and relationship education
please pray that this will provide an opportunity to get into
more schools.
We would find it very useful to have a technical helper on the
team, it may suit a semi-retired or self employed person who
would be able to set up our p.a equipment and manage the sound
desk during the presentations. Please contact Michelle on 425674
or at
evaluate.ipswich@ntlworld.com if you are able
to help.
CYM: One Christmas
-
Please pray for the children, parents and teaching staff who
will be hearing what Christmas is really about
-
Please pray
for the team, in particular that we can be a good witness for
Jesus in the schools.
-
Please pray
that the relationship between local churches and schools can be
strengthened by this project so that organisations like CYM can
continue to have input into the lives of local children through
schools.
-
Safety –
particularly when we have large numbers of children at concerts.

Burlington Baptist Church: We have a baptism taking
place at our church on Sunday 11th January. Some of
the friends and family of the lady being baptised are deaf. We
would very much like to have a Christian signer present to allow
them to feel completely part of the service and the baptism. Is
there a signer out there who would be able to attend? Please

The salvation of the righteous comes from the
Lord; he is their stronghold in time of trouble. Psalm 37:39
Thanks to all those who
prayed over the weekend. Here is some feedback -
From the Evening Star: Suffolk
police reported fewer incidents of anti-social behaviour and
alcohol-related violence and disorder around pubs and clubs on
Friday. Inspector Bruce Gent said, (speaking generally), "There
were no significant Halloween-related incidents and no
Halloween-related arrests."
Pete Wood: (TP team leader for
Friday night and 7 - 10pm shift on Saturday in Christchurch Park);
Friday probably saw more people around than for
a regular Friday, but that said not as many as I was expecting.
Apart from 2 or 3 incidents the evening passed off relatively
quietly without there appearing to be many people who had had far
too much to drink - certainly a lot fewer than you would get on a
normal Saturday shall we say. I think this is borne out from the
comments coming from Suffolk police today saying that there were
far less Halloween related incidents this year. In a similar vein
the fireworks in the park went off very quietly, perhaps the wet
weather had something to do with it. People mainly came late and
went soon after the fireworks had finished and there was no
trouble in the park as far as we could see. I as Team Leader
certainly felt God's presence Friday and Saturday and have no
doubt whatsoever that the extra prayer that was taking place
certainly worked.
Paul Daltry: (TP Team leader
10pm - 4am shift Saturday)
Saturday evening went really as normal. The big
challenge was to have no Town Link radio as it had gone down, but
thankfully Neil was in the CCTV room and we used mobiles to keep
in contact with him. We will need to review what happens without
the radios for the future in case it happens again. Neil wasn’t
too happy about us staying out, but I checked with the team and
they were OK. Overall it was no different or even maybe slightly
quieter than a normal Saturday night. Maybe the rain helped that,
apart from one incident with underage teens in Westgate as we were
changing over the two teams.
Please
pray for the Town Pastor teams this weekend:
Friday November 7th: Mark Firmin (Team leader - Bridge);
Sam Gibbs (St John's); Yvonne Cross (Rushmere Baptist); Barbara
Willingham (St Luke's) Saturday November 8th:
Simon Beddus (Tema leader - St Helen's); Norman Cox (Mistley Free
Church); John Russell / Daren Wood (St John's - both out on their
first shift); Laura Stafford (Orwell); Sheila Pugh (St
Margaret's); Miranda Gibbs (St John's)
World AIDS Day: December 1st - The World AIDS day
service this year will take place at 6pm at St Mary's Stoke,
followed at 8pm by a documentary film at the Corn Exchange
(Hollywood Film Theatre) titled "We are together". Please pray
for the devastation that AIDS is causing in other parts of the
world, but also for those affected locally.
Date for the diary: Crown Him with Many Crowns
will take place at St John's on Saturday 17th January at 7.30pm.
Each year we celebrate what God has done for us here in Ipswich
over the past year and commit the town to him for the year ahead.
It is always a great praise and prayer filled evening with lots of
encouragement. The evening will include, amongst other
updates, further exciting news about 'Heart for Ipswich'. Please
book the date now............

The One Christmas project will record hundreds of
children from local primary schools on a professional quality CD and
DVD. In December, the children will also have the opportunity to
perform the songs live at the Spa Pavilion Felixstowe with a live
band. Sales of the CD, DVD and concert tickets all raise money for
Tearfund. More information about One Christmas can be found at

Please find attached prayer
points for those who have signed up for a slot tomorrow or
Saturday. I am still looking to fill half hour slots from 3.30 -
4am on Friday October 31st and midday - 1pm / 2.30 - 3.30pm on
Saturday November 1st. Could you help? If you have not signed for
a slot please take 30 minutes to pray at some point over the 48
hours from midnight tonight through to midnight on Saturday night.
Let's really pray hard over this period,
together, and make it very different to last year. The police and
others are watching!
Remember: Come down to Ipswich
International Church (Barrack Corner) any time between 8pm and 11pm
on tomorrow (Friday 31st) to join others in prayer as we come before
God united as HIs people in Ipswich to pray for His town. We would
love to see a huge army assembled!!! We may come from different
backgrounds, different praying and worshipping traditions, but we're
all in this together as we seek to see the Kingdom of God move
forward here and lives and society being changed...........
There are different kinds of gifts
but the same Spirit distributes them. There are different kinds of
service, but the same Lord. There are different kinds of working,
but in all of them and in everyone it is the same God at work. (1
Corinthians 12:4-6)
On behalf of the IIP team - Thank you.
Liz.

Hi everyone
Sorry there has been a big gap since the
last e-mail. I have been busy, away, ill, and encountering computer
problems, in various combinations! I am sorry if I have missed
anything - please e-mail me again for next week if your prayer
requests are still relevant.
Meanwhile; THIS WEEK!
Friday 31st October:
Join us at Ipswich International Church (Barrack Corner) from 8pm
onwards this Friday evening to pray on this crucial night and
weekend for the town. With Halloween followed by fireworks in
Christhchurch Park on Saturday, Ipswich is vulnerable. We will be
praying for our schools, police, Town Pastors, etc as well as
generally for peace in the town ove the weekend and for God's
presence here. Please feel free to come for a short time if that is
all you can manage, between 8pm and 11pm.
48 hours of continuous prayer:
Thanks to all those who have pledged to pray during a half
hour slot on 31st October or 1st November. The chart is looking
good. However, I still have some gaps to fill and would love to
hear from anyone who could take a half an hour at any of the
following times:
Friday October 31st: between 1am and 4am
Saturday November 1st between 10.30am
and 12.30pm; between 2.30pm and 4pm.
I am very keen to get every gap covered
by at least one person!
Town Pastors:
Our new TPs finish their training

town on Friday evening; also a 14 - 18 year old event at Orwell
(further details from Mark Crawley
markj.crawley@ntlworld.com).
Please pray for these events.
Schools: A lot of our
children will be bombarded by Halloween this week - at school, on
TV, internet, parties, magazines etc. Please pray for their
protection. Pray too for those who may suffer peer pressure, or
bullying if they make a stand against the culture.
Health:
There are quite a number of Christian
leaders suffering health problems at the moment - please pray for
healing and protection. Also on the Town Pastors - we had to cancel
a team the Friday before last (only the second time we have ever had
to do this) and were down to one pair last Friday too. Several TPs
have been suffering from severe headaches, both before and after
shifts, sometimes lasting several days, so please pray about this
too.
Thanks everybody, and God bless,
